I am the engineering manager of the mobile team working remotely for a technology company working in the healthcare space.

Our goal was to build out a new mobile application in React Native that would work for both Android and iOS. Our current mobile application didn't have a lot of investment so starting on a blank slate with the assistance and expertise of Flatirons was the approach we took.

We search for vendors that were within our budget and also provided excellent application development, design skills, and also had a strong track record.

The scope of the work entailed rebuilding the majority of the old screens in the new application in React Native with updated designs. The key deliverables were collaboration on delivering this early in the new year in addition to platform improvements by creating an automated deployment process for mobile builds.

We worked with two mobile developers, one designer, and one project manager for this project.

The newly updated screens look phenomenal especially compared to our legacy application. Current beta users are extremely impressed and happy with the results. We are still on track for delivering within our expected timeline.

We worked in close collaboration with all the team members. We had daily standups and regular weekly check-ins. Additionally, we followed a two-week sprint cycle with a retro and sprint planning. If a deadline wasn't going to be met it was quickly brought up and we were able to collaborate to still meet each deadline.

Their mobile skills and design work are exceptional. It was truly a pleasure to collaborate with everyone on the team and everyone on my team absolutely loved working with everyone on the Flatirons team.

There aren't any improvements that come to mind. They were in tune with what the goals and deliverables were and communication and collaboration were top-notch.

I’m the CEO of Accio Data, a company that provides a scalable, open framework software platform for pre-employment screening firms. We enable seamless data exchange, frequent feature upgrades, and extensive customer support for background screening agencies.

Our software application has three faces: the applicant, the end user/employer, and the CRA (our client). We needed to improve our applicant and end user/employer-facing UI/UX.

Swovo first walked us through all the paths of our applicant and end user/employer front end. Then, they story-boarded every path. Next, we walked them through countless workflows so they could understand each user's experience. After that, Swovo provided many UX options. We decided on these options, and they offered several UI concepts. We settled on both the UI and UX routes. Then, they offered renderings piece by piece, and we agreed upon them. In the end, they delivered wireframes and Figma files where we could use our AI to build out the front end code.

We found them through an online search. We chose them because our company values aligned and they significantly outperformed competitors in a design exercise. We provided all firms with UI/UX samples and gave them only a few hours to present their design approach - Swovo was the clear frontrunner.

After agreeing on deliverables, Swovo assigned a project manager who provided monthly updates throughout the project. The new UI/UX transformed our business - over the previous two years, our sales had suffered due to poor UI/UX. The redesign delivered 100% customer satisfaction, significantly higher client retention, and year-over-year growth in new client acquisition.

They delivered on time every time. Our primary form of communication was virtual meetings.

They took the time to really understand our business and our needs and exceeded our expectations.

I’m the head of products at Trilliosoft, a fintech organization. We provide software solutions and trade surveillance for financial institutions.

We needed UX/UI redesign work to relaunch our best execution tool and make it an industry-leading solution.

We have engaged Flatirons to redesign our UX/UI. They have conducted a discovery call to understand what we were looking to design, why we were looking to design it, and who we were designing it for. From there, we have met weekly to walk through our requirements. Flatirons has addressed what has been discussed and provided us with an updated design. We have had the option of walking through the new designs as part of those meetings, making suggestions, and continuing to iterate.

We have two primary points of contact: a designer and Sandra, the project manager. The owners of the company are available as needed but do not join the weekly calls.

The president of our organization had worked with them in a prior engagement. From a former role, she knew Flatirons and their work. We chose them because they conveyed at the outset that they’d done this before. They showed strong examples that gave us the confidence they could do this. We also liked their process and commitment to seeing it through.

We have been working together since June 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

Flatirons has ensured that all of our requirements have been captured as part of the design and incorporated our feedback appropriately. They’ve been able to complete everything within 4-5 months. From start to finish, the team has demonstrated a strong engagement with the project, enabled the client to collaborate with the same people, and showcased a clear understanding of their business, needs, and goals.

Sandra and the designer are both outstanding and of a truly high caliber.

We’ve been impressed with the engagement and commitment to the work product. Our requirements and what we’re looking to do aren’t the easiest things to pick up if they haven’t had exposure to them. Flatirons has been able to understand the use case and design something that makes an impact.

I don’t think so. We’ve had issues with Google Meet, but that’s a very minor thing. Honestly, I only have positive things to say.

They should set forth clear requirements and expectations to let Flatirons know what they need from them in order to feel successful. They should also ensure everything is well-defined and can be tracked. Lastly, I recommend making the upfront investment to fully understand the use case and the impact they’re trying to make.

We created a web platform that integrates with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This platform used AI to summarize and analyze data from EHRs, providing healthcare professionals with key insights to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Our platform is in early adoption and the feedback from healthcare providers on the AI has been very positive.

Flatirons followed an agile development process, with daily stadnups, bi-weekly sprints and weejly check-ins to review progress. Flatirons is very communicative about the roadmap and deadlines, and they met all of them extremely well. We get a detailed weekly report noting all progress made & project status.

Flatirons exhibited a deep knowledge of healthcare technology, HIPAA-complaince, security, and AI. Their ability to consistently deliver on time while maintaining a high level of flexibility and quality was a standout trait.
