I’m a project manager at an outdoor furniture distribution company.

We were building an internal application and needed UI/UX designers.

LeverageUX Design House provided us with UI/UX design services using Figma. First, we signed their proposal, and they assigned our team. The team presented us with some options, and we asked for changes along the way, working back and forth for about a month.

We had an initial point of contact with LeverageUX Design House and worked with a financial manager. Once the ball got rolling, we worked with Anton (Co-Founder & Chief Business Development Officer), who acted as a technical project manager, and with a designer. They were both dedicated to our project full-time.

Initially, I was looking for freelance designers and found LeverageUX Design House on Upwork. Initially, we had a call where we described the project and everything we needed. From there, the team returned with a proposal and detailed presentation about what they would do for us. I picked them based on this presentation and other factors like cost, timeline, and reputation.

We spent around $15,000.

Our initial contact with LeverageUX Design House was in February 2023. From there, we worked together from March–May 2023.

LeverageUX Design House was great; they were easy to work with, and I was very satisfied with their output. I presented the solutions to our internal users and got positive feedback.

We communicated through Slack and used Figma to provide feedback. Additionally, LeverageUX Design House's estimates were spot-on.

I want to give a shout-out to Anton and the designer. They took our requirements very seriously and considered everything for the design. Neither had an issue listening to us, taking our input, or providing solutions.

Working with LeverageUX Design House was my first time using an agency instead of a freelancer, and the team led the way pretty well. From the initial contact until the implementation, they were great. My advice is to be straightforward with the budget and scope.

We’re a 30-person hardware and software company, and I’m a software manager.

We use LeverageUX as a design contractor — they make improvements to our software’s design, and our engineers implement those designs. For context, our team sells software to customers, and it’s highly technical. As a result, it’s difficult to use for configuring equipment, specifically the input channels.

To date, we’ve done 3–4 projects with the LeverageUX team. Our first project has been focused on our input channels. These channels allow end users to configure what sensors they want to connect to our devices, and we want to make it easy for them to remember the configurations they use.

We work with one designer and one project manager.

We found them through platforms similar to Upwork. I put out an RFP for bids, and their response indicated they understood what we wanted. On top of that, the concepts they worked with — such as framing things in terms of user stories and personas — indicated that they were more professional and knew what they were doing. They had a good price, too.

We’ve spent around $2,000–$3,000 on every project with LeverageUX, and we’ve had 3–4 projects so far. In total, we’ve invested around $10,000 in their services.

We started working with LeverageUX in February 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

Our release cycle is twice a year, so LeverageUX's work will come to users in October 2023. However, we’ve been testing it internally, and the designs do have some improvements. Other end users have taken a look at the designs, and they’ve said the designs are exciting and great. We expect to see improvements in the form of improved usability, which means that we’ll get fewer support tickets and more business. It’s a long-term investment, though, since we have yet to ship out the product.

They meet deadlines well and are great at what they do. I don’t see them using any project management tools since the engagement is quite straightforward. We use Slack to communicate.

LeverageUX has great designers at a highly competitive cost.

No, there aren’t any. Our industry is specific and complex, and a lot of mathematics and technical details are involved. Once they give me designs, I still have to continue working with them to improve the outputs. The project requires collaboration between our team and them. Considering all of that, they’re doing fine.

You have to work closely with LeverageUX. Hand out your requirements, and once you receive the designs, follow up with your feedback. The best types of projects for them are the ones with more general patterns. An example is designing a payment page.

We provided Leverage UX with inspiration and examples, essentially our own moodboard that we'd developed in-house. Through this and a few interviews with us, they were able to turn around initial designs very quickly. Along the way they were great at pushing us to exceed some of our more limited asks and were super flexible.

We presented stakeholders as well as test users our before and after designs. Everyone preferred Leverage UX's designs. Also the designs they delivered have continued to be extensible such that we can use them to experiment with new pages.

LeverageUX Design House was great at delivering on time and proactively messaging us about what to expect. In fact, they were so good they held us accountable to our AIs.

LeverageUX provided many Figma files for new designs for new features added in our data application. They also provided Figmas to improve existing UI and UX in the less polished parts of the existing application

With the goal being designing a new feature called Wallets, LeverageUX first started by interviewing our team of stakeholders. We collaborated on user stories that would define the requirements, and then the team got going to presenting UX ideas through wireframes/wireflows. Once we agreed upon a the direction for the solution, LeverageUX started building high fidelity mockups in Figma. After several rounds of reviews, final Figma files were delivered to our engineering team for build.

They assigned a project manager (Sasha) who kept everyone ontask. We had a shared slack channel, and used google docs to collaborate. They always delivered on time, and were highly responsive to our feedback and needs overall.

The rate of communication and rate of iteration were both stellar, and we were pleasantly surprised that it worked so well.

Due to cuts, we're not able to proceed so cannot report back on this. But we had plans to incorporate LeverageUX more deeply into the organization - having them act more like team-mates. We had also planned for more UX research to drive iteration. I'm confident they would've excelled on both fronts.
