Journi delivered the project end-to-end, beginning with a discovery phase to define requirements, user journeys, technical specifications, and test cases. The team designed and developed a cross-platform mobile application using Flutter, with BLE integration to enable communication with and configuration of EA Technology's physical devices. They also established Azure DevOps project management processes, implemented automated testing, conducted on-site testing and bug fixing, and provided documentation and handover support.

I’m the COO of a manufacturer of bedding products, primarily pillows and duvets. We distribute through various channels, including own-label wholesale, brand wholesale, and hospitality.

We wanted to grow our business over the next few years and double our revenue. To do that, we needed to improve our technology landscape. We had grown through an entrepreneurial mindset and approach, but our processes weren’t standardized, and we weren’t using our technologies the way we should.

We’ve asked Journi to do a technology roadmap for our business. The team has done a detailed discovery process, including about 35 workshops with different functional leaders and teams across our business. They’ve spent about 40 hours investigating what we do and mapping out our strengths and weaknesses.

We primarily work with Carlos. He’s our main contact and acts as our fractional CTO. We also work with an account manager.

Our CEO found them through a recommendation from her network.

We will have spent around £200,000 by the end of the year.

We started working together in April 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

We’re tracking a number of process improvements that are cost-saving. We’ll save around £50,000 per year in infrastructure costs. We’ve also seen efficiency gains as a result of some of the standardization and simplification we’ve put in place. We’ll save around two full-time employees’ worth of efficiency savings.

Journi meets deadlines and stays on budget. We use ClickUp for project management and communicate via email, phone calls, and Microsoft Teams.

From the beginning, they’ve understood the challenges we face. Carlos has been able to understand and map our current activities without being in the business, which is impressive.

There’s always room for improvement, but I can’t think of anything specific.

Be clear about your priorities and ensure there’s a clear business case and activity plan put together around those priorities. That way, you’ll have a way of monitoring and tracking success.

Journi augmented Complaion’s team with a full-stack developer to enhance user authentication capabilities and strengthen system security within their AWS environment. The engagement focused on enabling seamless user login through existing Microsoft work accounts, using SSO technologies and upgrading the authentication infrastructure to improve compatibility, maintainability, and overall security, leveraging new Amazon Cognito v2 features.

Journi partnered with EA Technology for stage 2 of their Laboratory Information Management System which is used by members of EA Technology's oil diagnostics team to manage the lifecycle of oil samples and to generate PDF reports with recommendations from the oil lab. Journi started with Discovery phase, before moving into development with a team of 3 full stack developers.

Development of UI Wireframes to time / budget. Development of full solution, and itterative correction of 'bugs' in a timely and reponsive manner.

Journi dedicated senior technical resource to lead the project and provided a consisten point of contact throughout. Needs / specification was itterated as required and project was completed to a high standard in timely manner.

The UI wireframes are really helpful but it would help in the definition of done if the initial exploratory stage included a further layer of documented functional activity.

Kittle Group had already developed an MVP web app that would help with bid planning. The initial version demonstrated the core functionality, but we needed to refine the the central algorithm, build out and enhance the platform with new features and refine the UX/UI. Journi worked really well to pick up and understand how the existing MVP worked, suggesting algorithmic enhancements, off the shelf components that could be integrated to accelerate the development and worked with us to deliver the enhancements.

Everything was delivered on time from Journi, though we sometimes introduced delays on our end. Journi were very responsive to any enquires. They initiated contact often and kept us up to date with progress continually. They let us knwo when they would need our input in advance so we could input into the project around our existing workload easily.

We were impressed with the quality of the people we interacted with. On the sales side, Jake was really honest and transparent, and you could tell he cared about what was good for our project and not just Journi's billing. On the delivery side, Carlos got his head around the project really quickly, and Journi were able to really pick up, improve and run with an MVP that others had built.
